Alisa recalls: "Sometimes there were wrong books when I was a child. Without pictures. At all. It was insulting, unfair, cruel. After all, I was sure: the book must be with pictures! What a sinister person a publisher must be if they publish blind books! So children's illustration is my feasible contribution to the fight against evil."
The most valuable qualities of a creative person are non-standard thinking and a witty approach to what they do; Alisa Yufa undoubtedly has these properties. The artist's works are incredibly ironic and atmospheric, the style of drawing is easily recognizable from a number of others.
The main leitmotif of Alisa's works is St. Petersburg and its inhabitants: absolutely ordinary passers-by on the streets eating crumpets, public transport drivers, residents of communal apartments in their kitchens, and restless cats who are trying to steal something.
